Yoga Teacher Training Available in Sarasota, Florida

The Sarasota, Florida-based Yoga from the Heart yoga studio is NOW accepting applications for its Yoga Alliance Approved 2011 Advanced Studies and RYT 200.

    Yoga Teacher Training Program

sarasota-yoga-teacher-trainingIf you’ve ever envisioned yourself teaching yoga or are simply looking to deepen your practice and knowledge, Yoga from the Heart recently announced that its 2011 Advanced Studies and its RYT 200 Teacher Training Program begins in January of 2011. Under the guidance of Lynn Burgess MBA, RYT 500, E-RYT 500, and her dedicated staff of instructors, students will receive a solid, comprehensive foundation in the art of teaching alignment-based yoga. Participants completing the 200-hour curriculum are then eligible for registration with the national organization, Yoga Alliance. Only 15 students are accepted for the program. Applications are available online at www.yogafromtheheart.com.

“The need for well-trained yoga teachers is quickly expanding from the major yoga hubs in big cities to suburbs and small towns all over the country,” says Lynn Burgess, a nationally acclaimed yoga teacher and founder of Yoga from the Heart. “Over the last 30 years, yoga has become a popular part of American culture. More and more people seek the healing, stress-relieving and life-enhancing benefits that yoga provides.”

The Yoga from the Heart teacher training program, now in its tenth year, is a registered Yoga Alliance school. While there are no licensing requirements for teaching yoga, Yoga Alliance has established widely adopted standards for education and certification. The designation of a “Registered Yoga Teacher” guarantees that a certain level of training and experience has been achieved. Burgess explains that in order to make their teaching program more accessible and affordable, it is now being offered as two distinctly different tracks each with its own unique characteristics: 100 Hour Advanced Studies - meets 1 weekend a month for 4 months and the 200 Hour RYT Teacher Training - meets 1 weekend a month for 4 additional months a total of 8 months.

100 Hour Advanced Studies – is for those people who are interested in learning more about the science of yoga, but don’t necessarily want to teach. The 100 Hour Advanced Studies program was created as a pathway for people to learn more, deepen their practices, ask questions, and engage in the learning process without the pressure or commitment of becoming a teacher. The hours accumulated during the 100 Hour Advanced Studies program are completely transferable and applicable towards the 200 Hour Teacher Training.

rys-200-newRYT 200 Hour Teacher Training - The 200 hour training program is for those people who have successfully completed the 100 Hour Advanced Studies and are committed to continuing their exploration of the eight petal path of yoga, as well as starting to develop the skills essential to become a confident instructor.

Upon successful completion of the 200 hours, all coursework, required class attendance, and the teaching presentation, students receive a certification of completion from Yoga from the Heart. This certificate may then be presented to Yoga Alliance for registration as a “Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).” Classes meet one weekend per month, beginning on Friday evenings and ending on Sunday afternoons.

    Can anyone teach yoga?

“That’s a question most yoga students ask at one point or the other,” says Burgess. “Students worry that they’re not good enough or strong enough. But we look at other traits, too, including how much passion the student has for the practice, and how much of a commitment he or she has for learning—and for sharing. People come to our trainings from all different walks of life; we’ve even had students with severe physical challenges complete the program. You don’t have to be an asana superstar to change people’s lives.”
One thing is certain, says Burgess. “Your physical abilities and practice will be in a very different place by the end of the program!”

As a Sarasota Web marketing company I have seen many businesses lose large portions of their advertising budgets on local designers that swear they will create amazing optimized websites. The truth is many have no clue how to code or how to code cleanly. They also do not understand SEO in the least, even though they list it as a service.

SEO is a lot more than keywords. Imagine keywords being a piece of sand and SEO being Siesta Key beach. That is a good comparison.

I was asked to list 10 things people should look for in a web design and SEO Company:

    1. A company that designs a site around your needs and goals.
    2. A company that designs a site that is user friendly and allows you access for editing.
    3. They must be focused on conversion.
    4. They must understand how to appeal to different personality types, learning styles and demographics.
    5. They must understand how important proper coding is.
    6. They must understand SEO at an expert level. They should be able to explain the hows and whys and also have a solid plan laid out for you to understand.
    7. They need to understand how crucial proper SEO copywriting is and have real SEO copywriters ready for you.
    8. They must know how to integrate your SEO, social media marketing, Internet marketing, local search, reputation management and website together, while also integrating your goals amongst them all.
    9. They must know how to track your successes and failures on the web - this includes social media.
    10. They should take your goals and needs and combine them with researched strategies that will help you convert and increase your visibility on the Web.

So there is a brief 10 musts when hiring a local web designer/SEO.
